Managing Stores
After your Shopify store is connected, the Stores page gives you everything you need to keep it healthy: trigger syncs, monitor live progress, renew an expiring connection, and disconnect or reconnect when needed.
Store management actions (Sync Now, Renew connection, Disconnect) require an admin role. If you don't have permission, these controls are disabled.
Syncing data
Fyncall syncs your store automatically when Auto‑sync is enabled and through real‑time webhooks, but you can also run a sync on demand.
Sync Now
In the Actions section, click Sync Now to start an immediate sync of your products, collections, orders, and customers.
- While a sync is running, the button shows Syncing… and is disabled until it finishes.
- A confirmation toast appears when the sync is initiated.
Live sync progress
While a sync runs, a progress panel appears showing real‑time status:
| Element | Description |
|---|---|
| Current resource | "Syncing products…", "Syncing orders…", etc. |
| Overall progress | A percentage and progress bar for the whole sync |
| Per‑resource counts | Each of products, collections, orders, and customers shows a spinner while in progress and a green check when complete, along with a current/total count |
The sync metric tiles at the top also update live with increasing counts as records import.
Large catalogs take longer to sync. You can leave the page — syncing continues in the background and the metrics update on your next visit.
Why you might see 0 orders or customers
If Orders or Customers stay at 0 after a sync, your Shopify app likely needs Protected Customer Data access. Enable the customer fields in your Shopify Partner Dashboard → API access, then run Sync Now again.
Connection & token expiry
Shopify connections use an access token that can expire. Fyncall tracks the token's health and surfaces it in the Connection field and through banners.
| Status | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Active | Token is valid | Nothing — you're all set |
| Expiring soon | Token will expire shortly | Renew the connection to avoid interruption |
| Needs reconnect | Token has expired or is invalid | Reconnect now — syncing and AI store features are paused until you do |
When a connection is expiring or needs attention, a banner appears at the top of the store view:
- Expiring soon (amber): "Your Shopify connection is expiring soon — Reconnect to avoid interruption — about N day(s) left."
- Needs reconnect (red): "Your Shopify connection needs to be renewed — Syncing and AI store features are paused until you reconnect. It takes a few seconds."
Renew connection
To renew, click Renew connection (available in the banner and in the Actions section).
- Click Renew connection. The button shows Redirecting… while it sends you to Shopify.
- Re‑authorize the app in Shopify (same permissions as before).
- You're returned to Fyncall with the connection restored and a success confirmation.
Renewing takes only a few seconds and does not remove any of your synced data.
Renew as soon as you see the Expiring soon banner. If the connection reaches Needs reconnect, syncing and AI store features pause until you complete the renewal.
Disconnecting a store
To stop syncing and remove Fyncall's access to your store:
- In the Actions section, click Disconnect.
- Confirm in the dialog. You'll be warned that disconnecting removes access to your products, customers, and orders, and that you can reconnect at any time.
- Click Disconnect to confirm.
On success you'll see "Store disconnected successfully" and the page returns to the store selection (welcome) screen.
Disconnecting revokes Fyncall's access and clears the related synced data (products, orders, customers) from the connected views. Your data in Shopify is unaffected. To use the store again, you'll need to reconnect and re‑authorize.
Reconnecting a store
To reconnect after disconnecting, follow the same steps as the initial connection:
- Go to Stores.
- Click Connect on the Shopify store card.
- Enter your Shopify Store URL and click Connect Shopify.
- Authorize the app in Shopify (and approve a subscription if prompted).
See Stores Overview for the full connection walkthrough.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | What to check |
|---|---|
| Sync stays at 0 orders/customers | Enable Protected Customer Data in the Shopify Partner Dashboard (API access → customer fields), then re‑sync |
| "Needs reconnect" banner | Click Renew connection and re‑authorize in Shopify |
| "Connection Issues Detected" / Issues badge | Review the error message and timestamp shown; try Sync Now, then Renew connection if the issue persists |
| Products not appearing | Confirm the product is published and on a sales channel in Shopify, then run Sync Now |
| Sync Now / Disconnect disabled | You need an admin role to perform store actions |
| Page failed to load | Use Try Again or Refresh Page on the error screen |
